So last summer, Nine Worlds GeekFest happened, and there was a Queer Fandom track, and a lot of people seemed to have a good time on it – so much so that we made this blog so we could keep talking about LGBTQAI geek stuff all year round. And… we’re doing it again this year!
For anyone who doesn’t know it, Nine Worlds is a massive multi-track fan-run convention with a focus on inclusivity and fun. You can see media coverage and a video of some of last year’s highlights, and read the feedback report here. Last year the Queer Fandom team (that’s us!) hosted three days of panels on LGBTQAI issues and representation in media and fandom, plus workshops and socials and the hugely popular Bifröst Queer Cabaret and ROCK PARTY. We’re super fucking thrilled at the prospect of doing an even better job and bringing it to more people this year.
So if that sounds up your street, you can book tickets at the Nine Worlds website – and if you want to take a more active role, we would love to have you on the programme. We want fans and critics, creators, everyone and anyone who wants to talk about sexuality and gender in media/culture/fandom. We also want to hear your suggestions for the kind of content you’d like to see. And we have a HANDY FORM:

Aaaand… see you in August, we hope!
